• ՀԲուս. § 168 ասում է. «Զարմանալի կամ հետաքննական բան մ'է, որ մեր ասորեկ կոչածը՝ Ափրիկեցիք ալ հիմայ ասուրիկ կոչեն, ըստ վկայութեան Ա-տանսոն բուսաբանի, որ շատ տարիներ կեցաւ ի Սենեկամպիա»։ Ֆերահեան, Բազմ. 1931, էջ 141-2 խօսելով բառիս վրայ, գտնում է, որ նոյն է լտ. eru-ca, ֆրանս. roquctte, իտալ. ruca, տճկ rokka salata, գւռ. ճարճիր, նարճրակ, արաբ. [other alphabet] ǰirǰir, ինչպես դրել եմ ես էլ։ Այս բոյսը շատ նման է կոտեմի և ջրկոտեմի, որի համար էլ երբեմն շփոթ-վում է նրանց հետ։ Բոլորովին տարբեր է գւռ. սորեկ, սորուկ «լտ. sorgham, sa-ricum» (տե՛ս իմ Գւռ. բառ.)։

Ա. 10)։ Բառի հին ձևն էր հպրս. spādapati, որ Արշակունեաց ժամանակ փոխ առնուելով՝ դարձաւ հյ. սպա-ռատետ. ասպարապետ, իսկ Սասանեանց ժամանակ երկրորդ անգամ փոխ առնուելով նոր ձևով՝ դարձաւ ասպահապետ։ Իրանեան բառերը կազմուած են spāda > spāh > sipāh «սպայ, զօրք» և pati>pat>bad «պետ, տէր» բառերից։-Հիւբշ. 22, 240։
• Ուղիղ մեկնեց նախ ԳԴ, որ պրս. էսփէն-պէտ ձևից փոխառութիւն է դնում։ Յե-տոյ գալիս են ՆՀԲ և Lagarde, Gesam, Abhd. 186։-Dulaurier JAs. 18(1861), էջ 291 համարում է հայակերտ ձև, կազ-մուած ասպ բառից. իսկ արաբ. asbah buδ հայերէնից տառադարձուած է դնում։

• Առաջին մեկնիչն է Dulaurier, որ ❇As 18(1861), էջ 291 բառս դնում է պրս. asp «ձի» ձևից։ Էմին, Истор. Bapдana Չ0 ասպահապետ բառից համարօ-տուած։ Müller, SWAW 38. 573 ևն սանս. açvapati, զնդ. aspapaiti։ Էմին, Ист. Aсохика 251 ասպ և պետ բառե-րից։ Տէրվ. Մասիս 1882 յուլ" 24=աս-պապետ =սանս. ասվապատի. հալերէ-նում երկու պ-երից մին ընկած է։ Նոյնը նաև Լեղու, էջ 158։ Հիւնք. սպայապետ կամ ասպատակ ձևից։ Մառ Kрит. и мeлкiя cт. (1903), էջ 70 նկատելով, որ հների մէջ միջին ա-ի անկում չկար, ուս-տի չէր կարող *ասպապետը դառնալ ասպետ. հետևաբար ասպետ դնում է ասուպետ ձևից (ինչ. մոգուպետ>մոգ-պետ), որ հանում է պրս. [arabic word] sū կամ [arabic word] asū «կողմ» բառից. այսպէսով աս-պետ դառնում է ճիշտ «կողմնապետ, կուսակալ»։ (Այս մեկնութիւնը սխալ է, որովհետև՝ 1. միջին ա-ի կորուստ չկայ *ասպապետ>ասպետ բառի մէջ. այլ ա-րագաբանութիւն (haplologie), որ ծա-նօթ էր նաև հներին. ինչպէս հպրս. *ha-mamātā >hamātā և հյ. ճարտարասան >նարտասան. 2. փոփոխութիւնը կամ անկումը եղել է նախապէս իրանակա-նում և յետոյ պատրաստ անցել հայե-րէնի. 3. պրս. sū «կողմ» բառի հին ձևն
• կազմուած լինէր մեր բառը, պիտի ունե-նար «*սուկպետ, *ասուկպետ կամ ասկ-պետ ձևը և ո՛չ բնաւ ասպետ)։ Ադոնց, Յուստ. էջ 400-1 մեկնում է աս+պետ, որի մէջ աս միացնում է սե-պուհ բառի առաջին մասի հետ.
• ՓՈԽ.-Ագաթանգեղոսի յոյն թարգմանու-թեան մէջ հայերէնից յունարէնի տառադար-ձուած է բառը ασπετ, ἀσπετων ձևով (հրտր. Lagapde, § 164, էջ 83, 95 և § 135, էջ 68, 46). սրանից էլ ձևացել է արաբ. ❇ dsbāta «ասպետ»՝ Ագաթանգեղոսի արաբա-կան թարգմանո։թեան մէջ (Մառ ЗВО 16, 201)։
