• ՓՈԽ.-Հայ բոշ. կավրավ «կնքահայր, սանահայր» (գւռ. քաւոր ձևից), գնչ. kirvo, kirivó, kivro «կնքահայր», որից գնչուերէնի օրէնքով իգական՝ kirvi «կնքամայր». բո-լորն էլ մեր քաւոր բառից են. (A. Paspatu սոանց համար գրում է. «Որչափ ինձ ծա-նօթ է՝ չկայ նման մի բառ՝ որ կարենայ սրան ծագում տուած լինել»։ Ի ղուր ուրեմն համեմատում է սանս. kurvat «արարեալ» ռառի հետ, որ այստեղ գործ չունի)։-Քաւոր ձևից են փոխառեալ նաև քրդ. քիրվա, քիվ-րա, քրիվա «թլփատութեան ծէսի ժամանակ կնքահայր եղող անձը». այս բառով են կո-չում հայերը քրդերին՝ բարեկամական լեզ-ւով. այս տիտղոսը ծագում է նրանից, որ շատ քրդեր «Հայոց կնքահայր կը լինին խաչ բռնելով կամ այլոց բռնել տալով. այ-ռուհետև այր քուրդն փեսայի տան քրիվան է և անոր պաշտպանն նեղ վայրկեաններու մէջ»։ (Այս քրդ. բառը չէ նշանակած Justi. ունին միայն Ճանիկեան, Հնութ. Ակնայ, էջ 71 և Միրախորեան, Նկարագրական ու-ղևորութիւն 1885 Պօլիս, հտ. Գ. էջ 219)։ Իբր թրք. բառ յիշում է նաև Будaговъ 2, 125 օ︎ kirve ձևով և ասում է թէ գոր-ծածաևան է Անդրկովկասում ու մի քանի գաւառներում, ինչ. Ղարաբաղ, Շամախի. նուխի. իսկ Ատրպատականում չի գործած-ւում. նշանակում է «կնքահայր», ինչաես երևում է թուրք մոլլաների գրած չափաբե-ոական մատեաններից և է այն անձը՝ որ թլփատութեան ժամանակ գրկում է մանու-կին. այդ առթիւ մանկիկին նուիրում է ամ-Արմատական բառարան-39 բողջ մի հագուստ և իրաւունք ունի մինչև մանկիկի ծնողների հարեմը մտնեւու։-Թուրքերէնի վրայով անցնելով հյ. կնիք բառը տուել է նաև հունգ. könyv «գիրք», մորդվին. kon՛ov «թուղթ», հսլ. kun՛iga, ռուս. книга. ուկր. knyha, բուլգար. kniga, սերբ. knjgga, չեխ. kniha, լեհ. kslega «գիրք, թուղթ, սաղմոս, խաղաթուղթ-ևն», այս կարծիքը առաջարկել է նախ Mikkola. l*inn-ugr.
