Նախալ. 110 և Լեզու 1887, 150 հոսել բայից։ Հիւնք. յն. ῥώομαι (ներկ.) և ῥωσομαι (ապ.) «արշաւել, սուրալ, դի-մել», պրս. րէս, րէսա «հասնիլ»։-Հրոս բառի երկրորդ նշանակութիւնը ՆՀԲ և ՋԲ հասևանում են «գործակից տռփո-ղին», ԱԲ ուղղակի դնում է «կաւատ». որ սխալ է. (ՆՀԲ այս իմաստով համե-մատում է յն. ἔρος «սէր» բառի հետ). հրոս նշանակում է «առևանգողի օգնա-կան կտրիճը», որ կռւող է և ո՛չ կա-ւատ. ուստի և հրոս, հրոսակ բառի մի նոր առումն է միայն (տե՛ս իմ Հալ. նոր բառեր հին մատ. Ա. էջ 64)։-Պա-տահաևան նմանութիւն ունին անգլ-սաքս. hros «նժոյգ», անգլ. horse «ձի», գերմ. Ross։
