Կոչ. յետ-նաբար և արդի գրականի ու գաւառական-ների մէջ «յոյժ, շատ» նշանակութեամբ. հնագոյն օրինակն ունի Մամիկ. էջ 48 «Խիստ վաստակեցաւ Սմբատ յաւուրն յայն-միկ». աշխ. և գւռ. խիստ բարի, խիստ գե։ ղեցիկ, խիստ ճերմակ։ Նշանակութեան զար-սացման համար հմմտ. պրս. [arabic word] saxt և թրք. [arabic word] pek, որոնք նշանակում են «խիստ, կարծր, պինդ», բայց ածականների վրայ դրուելով նշանակում են «յոյժ, շատ». ինչ. պրս. saxt suxt «խիստ թոյլ», թրք. pek eyi «շատ լաւ», pek guzel «շատ գեղե-ցիկ»։ (Այս համեմատութիւնը տե՛ս նաև Մասեաց աղաւնի 1863, էջ 202)։ Գաւառա-կաններում էլ ունինք պինդ իբր գերադրա-կան մասնիկ. ինչ. պինդ աղէկ «ամենալաւ», պինդ մեծը «ամենամեծը» (այսպէս Բզ. Հմշ. Սլզ. Սվ.)։-Խիստ արմատից ծագած ձևեր են խստութիւն Սգր. Ագաթ. Վեցօր. Եզն. Ոսկ. խստանալ ՍԳր. Վեցօր. Եզն. Բուզ. խստագոյն ՍԳր. Բուզ. Կոչ. խստաձայն Վե-ցօր. խստաբերութիւն Ագաթ. խստաշունչ Վեցօր.
