• = Նման են հնչում հրէական արամ. [hebrew word] xalazōn, ասոր. [arabic word] xalazōnā կամ [arabic word] xlīzonā, արաբ. [arabic word] ha-lazūn, որոնք միևնոյն նշանակութիւնն ու-նին մեր բառի հետ։-Բայց այս բառերի ծա-զումը անծանօթ է. ձևը ցոյց է տալիս՝ որ բնիկ սեմական չեն։ Muller WZKM 2, 285 ուզում է հանել յն. άλίζωος «ծովակեաց, ծովի մէջ բնակող» բառի ռամկական ἅλίζωω ձևից. բայց այս կարծիքն էլ ընդունած չէ։ Ըստ այսմ անորոշ է նաև հայերէն բառիս ծագումը։ Թերևս բոլորը միասին փոխ են առնուած մի անծանօթ լեզուից, և յատկապես ա՛յն ազգից՝ որ առաջին անգամ խեցեմորթից ծիրանի ներկը պատրաստելու արհեստը գտաւ։
• ՆՀԲ խլինք և ունչ բառերից է հանում՝ հետևելով թրք. sumuklu «խխունջ» (բուն նշանակում է «խլնքոտ») բառի կազմութեան։ Վերի սեմական ձևերի հետ համեմատեց Հիւբշ. ZDMG 36 (1882), 130. բայց նմանութիւնը մերժեց ինքը (տե՛ս Հիւբշ. Սեմ. փոխ. բառեր, K 42)։ Սակայն Müller WZKM 8, 285 (հյ. թրգմ. ՀԱ 1894, 295) ընդունում է։ Վերջին անգամ մերժում է Հիւբշ. Arm. Gram. 305։ Հիւնք. դնում է խնջել բա-յից։ Ղափանցեան, տե՛ս խլէց։
• ԽՈԽ.-Վրաց. ღვინჭილა ղվինճիլա կամ ოურინჭილა ղուրինճիլա «օրոճիկ, մի տեսակ խխունջ» փոխառեալ է թւում հայ. խռնջայլ կամ խոնչող ձևից։-Կայ նաև ուտ. միլղոնչ «խղունջ», որի հետ համեմատելի է գւռ. կոխլանճ։
