• «վայր, ցած». մէկ անգամ միայն գործածել է Եւս. պտմ. 166 «Որք միանգամ էին յեօթն և ի տասնամենից և ի խոնջ»։ (ՆՀԲ գրում է խոնճ. տպուած է խոնջ)։-ԱԲ այս նշանակութեան վրայ աւելացնում է նաև «մէջը» նշանակութիւնը, որի համար անշուշտ որևէ աղբիւր ունի իր առջև. բայց այդ աղ-բիւրը անյայտ է։-ՋԲ բնաւ չէ յիշում այս բառը։

• = Բառիս հետ նոյն են վրաց. ხომორი խո-շորի կամ ხუმური խուշուրի «ոչ մեծ, ոչ փոքր, այլ միջակ մեծութեամբ. 2. բռնկցնե-լու նիւթ, տաշեղ, կպչան, Յ. քարի մանը կտորներ, խիճ. 4. ո՛չ հաստ ոլորած թել», ხვიმერი խվիշերի «կտոր կտոր կոտրտած». ხვიჟირი խվիժիրի «խոշոր ջարդած կտոր-ներ, աղի կռոճ ևն (=Պլ. խոշոր աղ)», დახ-ვიჟრვა դախվիժրվա «քար կամ աղ կոտրա-տել», ღახააჯς, ծախվիժրա «ճանապարհի համար քար ջարդել», սվան. խոշա «խոշոր, մեծ, երէց», պրս. [arabic word] xušā̄ra «փշրանք. որ ի սեղանի ի կերակրոյ և ի հացէ թափի»։ արաբ. [arabic word] xuš̌ar, [arabic word] ❇šara «սե-ղանից աւելացած փշրանք, առհասարակ ա-ւելորդ և դէն գցելու բան» (Կամուս, թրք. թրգմ. Ա. 839). [arabic word] xarāš̌a «տաշեղի նման թափթփուք», [arabic word] xaraš «մանրուք իրեր» (Կամուս, թրք. թրգմ. Բ. 325). բայց յայտնի չէ թէ ի՞նչպէս պէտք է կապել այս բոլորը իրար հետ և ո՛րն է նրանց նախնա-կան աղբիւրը։ Հիմնական նշանակութիւնն է անշուշտ «ջարդոտած կտորներ», ինչ որ յա-րաբերական գաղափար է և կարող է ըմբըռ, նուել ըստ տեղւոյն «մանր, փշուր, փշրանք» և կամ «խոշոր, մեծ կռոճներով». այս վեր-չինից էլ կբխի «կոպիտ, կոշտ կամ անհարթ (խոժոռ)» գաղափարը։-Աճ.
