• =Բառս գտնւում է Առաջաւոր Ասիայի շատ լեզուների մէջ. հմմտ. պրս. [arabic word] gōz, gavz, քրդ. guz, guiz, govīz, չաղաթայ. [arabic word] արաբ. [arabic word] ǰavz, թրք. ❇ ǰeviz, եբր. [hebrew word] əgōъ, ասոր. [arabic word] gauza, օսս. angoza, an-guz, իմերել. և վրաց. ნივოზი նիգոզի, մին-գր. նէջի, չէրքէզ. dəšvi, բոյաշ. անքօռ (Կովկաս), անքոտ (Ակն. տե՛ս Ճանիկեան, Հնութ. Ակնայ, էջ 62)։ Բայց այս ձևերից ո՛չ մէկը չի կարող հայերէնի մայր համարուիլ։ Ընդհակառակը շատերը կարող են բացատ-րուիլ հայերէնով։ Ձայնական օրէնքների հա-մաձայն՝ հյ. ընկոյզ ձևը գալիս է նախաւոր *ինկոյզ ձևից և այս էլ թերևս *engouz ձևից, որին առանձնապէս նման են կովկասէան-ները (օսս. իմերէլ. վրաց.)։ Սեմական ձևերը ռեմագէտների կողմից բնիկ չեն համարւում. արդէն սեմական gauz ձեւր չի կարող տալ հյ. ընկոյզ. հանաւաբար հին հյ. *engouz տուել է սեմ. *eggouz, որից եբր. əgōz նա-խաձայնի կրճատմամբ էլ՝ միւս բոլոր ձևերը։ Արդէն ըստ Hehn, Kulturpflanzené, էջ 390, ընկոյզը, նուշը և շագանակը Փոքր Ասիոյ հիւսիսային կողմերից են գալիս և Հայաս-տանը՝ որ ընկոյզի արտադրութեան կողմից նշանաւոր երկիր է, կարող էր իր բառը դէպի հարաւ և դէպի արևելք տարածած լինել։ Հա-ւանաբար հյ. ընկոյզ հին խալդիական լե-զուից մնացած մի բառ է։-Հիւբշ. 393։
