• πὄρϰος), իռլ. orc, հբգ. farah, անգսք. feark, լիթ. paršas, հսլ. prase, ռուս. norosiá, լեհ. prosie, հպրուս. prastian հոմանիշները (Walde 600, Pokorny 2, 78)։ Կարելի էր հայ ձևն էլ դնել այս բառերի շարքում՝ նախաւոր իմաստը համարելով «խոզ»> «որսի կենդանի»> «որս»։ Այս կարծիքս յայտնել եմ Meil-let-ին, որ սակայն մերժեց, առարկելով թէ 1) հնխ. pork'os միշտ «ընտանի խոզ»ն է, հակառակ հնխ. sū-(>լտ. sūs, յն. όs, զնդ. hū-, ալբան. ϑi, քուչ. suwo, հբգ. su, անգսք. su, հհիւս. syr, աւելի յետոյ գոթ. swein, գերմ. Schwein, ռուս. cвинья ևն) բառին, որ նշա-նակում է թէ՛ ընտանի խոզր և թէ վայ-րենին. 2) հնխ. pork'os բառը պահուած է միայն իտալական, կելտական, գեր-մանական և բալթիկ-սլաւական լեզու-ներում, և չի գտնւում արիական, թո-խարական, յունական խմբերում. ըստ այսմ յատուկ է արևմտեաններին և ո՛չ արևելեաններին, հակառակ su-բառին, որ ընդհանուր է բոլոր հնդևրոպացոց. 3) եթէ ֆինն. porsas և վօգուլ. pūrys «խոզ» բառերը փոխառեալ են հնդևրո-պական լեզուներից, անհրաժեշտ չէ են-թադրել թէ փոխառութիւնը կատարուած է արիական խմբից. կարող է լինել և բալթիկ-սլաւականից (այս բոլորի մա-սին հմմտ. Meillet BSL հտ. 23, л 71. էջ 60, Esquisse lat. էջ 41 և Dial. ind. էջ 19)։
