(ՆՀԲ այս իմաստով համե-մատում է յն. ἔρος «սէր» բառի հետ). հրոս նշանակում է «առևանգողի օգնա-կան կտրիճը», որ կռւող է և ո՛չ կա-ւատ. ուստի և հրոս, հրոսակ բառի մի նոր առումն է միայն (տե՛ս իմ Հալ. նոր բառեր հին մատ. Ա. էջ 64)։-Պա-տահաևան նմանութիւն ունին անգլ-սաքս. hros «նժոյգ», անգլ. horse «ձի», գերմ. Ross։
