[arabic word] māl բառից, որ նշա-նակում է՝ «ստացուածք, ինչք. 3. ապրանք, վաճառք. 3. հասոյթ, եկամուտ. 4. դրամ. 5. տաւար»։ Նոյն թթր. բառից փոխառեալ է նաև վրաց. მალი մալի «փողով տուրք»։ որից მემალე մեմալե «հարկահաւաք» (տե՛ս և նախորդը)։
• «մանրել, փշրել». արմատ առան-ձին անգործածական, որից մալել «մանրել, մաշել, ջարդել» Դան. Բ. 40 (հմմտ. Դրնղ. 458։ Բայց այս բանը թիւր-իմացութեան արդիւնք է։ Արդարև Մտթ. ժթ. 24, Մրկ. ժ. 25, Ղուկ. ժը. 25 «Դիւ-րին է մալխոյ մտանել ընդ ծակ աս-ղան» հատուածում մալուխ բառի դէմ յոյն բնագիրն ունի ϰάμηλος, որ նշա-նակում է «ուղտ», ինչպէս գտնում ենք Աւետարանի բոլոր նոր թարգմանու-թեանց մէջ։ Ուղտը ասեղի ծակից անց կացնելու համեմատութիւնը անշուշտ ա-րևելեան ընթացիկ մի պատկեր էր, որ գտնում ենք նաև Ղուրանի մէջ (է. 38)։ Յիսուսի օրինակով Մուհամմէդ էլ ասում է. «Ամբարիշտն՝ որ հպարտութեամբն իւրով համարեսցի սուտ զվարդապե-տութիւն մեր, գտցէ զդրունս երկնից փակեալս։ Մտցէ նա անդր՝ յորժամ ուղտ մի անցանիցէ ընդ ծակ ասղան միոյ»։ Բայց մեր հայրերը նոյն յն. բառի տեղ գտնելով ϰάμιλος «չուան» կամ իրենք այսպէս կարդալով՝ թարգմանել են մա-լուխ «չուան»։ Ըստ Boisacq (էջ 403 ծան.) յունաց մէջ էլ ձգտում եղած է Աւետառանի ϰάμηλος «ուղտ» բառը կարդալու ϰαμιλος «չուան», իբրև տե-ղին աւելի յարմար։-Սխալւում են ՆՀԲ և միւսները կարծելով որ հյ. մալուխ նշանակում է «ուղտ», թէև սրանով մել
• թարգմանութիւնը ուղիղ է դուրս բեր-ւում։ Թէ մեր հայրերը յիշեալ յոյն բա-ռը «չուան» են հասկացել՝ ապացուցւում է նրանով, որ նախ՝ մալուխ բառը այլ-ուր միշտ «չուան» նշանակութւինն ու-նի. այսպէս՝ Զնաւկնեարն մալխօք իբր ի կղզւոջ կապեալ հանգուցանէին. Պտմ. աղէքս.-Կտրել զմալուխս առագաստին. Յայսմ.-մինչև ի կտրել զմալուխս (գրուած զմամուլս) առագաստին. Ճա-ռընտ.։ Երկրորդ՝ հայ մեկնիչները գի-տեն որ այս հատուածում «ուղտ»-ի մա-սին ակնարկութիւն կայ, բայց այդ վե-րագրում են ուրիշ լեզուների. այսպէս Մեկն. ղկ.-«Յոյնն ուղտ ասէ մալխոյն, որ նշանակէ զթիւրս և զկորուսեալս վատթար գործովք»։ Երզն. մտթ. 412-«Ջուղտն մալուխ կոչէ արասացին և այլք զնաւատոռն (տպ. նաւատորմիլ) նաւու ասեն մալուխ»։ Այս վկայութիւն-ները ցոյց են տալիս՝ որ հյ. մալուխ «ուղտ» ձևով բառ գոյութիւն չունի։-ՆՀԲ ստուգաբանելով բառս գրում է՝ «փոխադրութեամբ տառից լինի խամուլ, խամլ, այն է յայլ լեզուս յն. ϰάμηλος լտ. camelus, եբր. gamal, արաբ. ja-mal»։ Lag.
