II. էջ 216 դնում է սանս. jiva, հին-գուստ. ❇ ǰi «կեանք, հոգի» բառից. նոյն-պէս և Ascoli, էջ 18-19. Paspati է» 394 ցոյց է տալիս որ սանս. ǰiva ձևի հետ պէտռ է կապել գնչ. ǰibe «կեանք». իսկ գնչ. ogi բառը սրա հետ կապ չունենալով՝ կցւում է an'ga «անձն» բառի հետ. բայց սրան էլ ա-ւելի մօտիկ է գտնում գնչ. ongi «սիրտ, կամք, հակում»։ Սրանց հակառակ միւս կող-մից Müller SWAW 66, 278 ընդունում է թէ գնչ. vod'i յառաջանում է հյ. ոգի բառից։ Մի ընդարձակ քննութիւն Mordtmann-ի և Pott-ի կողմից՝ տե՛ս ZDMG 1870, 681-103, ուր գնչ. ogi փոխառեալ է դրւում հյ. հոգի բառից։ -Պատահական նմանութիւն ունին ֆինն. henki, էստ. hifg, լապ. hoeg և ճապոն. ❇ ki «հոգի, ոգի», անդի xek'a, hek'a, կար. xek'oa «մարդ, անձ»։-Տե՛ս նաև վար բառի տակ։
