[arabic word] āvāx կամ [arabic word] lavax «ա-ւաղ», որի ծագումը անյայտ է (Horn չի նը-շանակած ոչինչ)։ Հայերէնը չի կարող փո-խառեալ լինել պարսկերէնից, որովհետև այս պարագային պիտի ունենայինք հյ. *աւախ։ Առառաւելն պարսկերէնը կարող է փոխա-ռեալ լինել հայերէնից (հմմտ. աղիւս)։ Եթէ պարսկերէնը փոխառեալ է հայերէնից, փո-խառութիւնը կատարուած է յետին շրջանում, երր արդէն հայերէն ղ ստացել էր արդի հըն-չումը՝ փոխանակ լ-ի։

Ոսկ. մ. ա. 11։ Այս ի-մաստն ունենալու է նաև աղամողումն «ցըր-ւումն» «Յարդգողի ծիր, ոմանք կարծեն գոլ լուսոյ աղամողումն, զոր աստեղքն փայլա-կեն». Փիլ. նխ. բ. էջ 101. որի հետ հմմտ. Շիր. էջ 47. «Սորին հրոյ սակի է զոր ցոլմունք աս-տեղաց անուանեմք. քանզի առ ի յոյժ բախ-մանց շրջագայ պարունակացդ շարժելով զյարմարական գնացս՝ երևումն լինի վերին լուսոյն... և ի յաղամողել լուսոյն է առ փայ-լատակիւն՝ առ ի ցրուել ուժգնութեան օդոյն»։ նաև Շիր. էջ 66 աղամողել հրոյ «ցրւումն հրոյ»։ Յետին հեղինակները սակայն գործա-ծռւմ են զանազան իմաստներով. այսպէս՝ Փիլ. այլաբ. էջ 165 օձի շարժումների մասին խօսելով ասում է. բազմաման և շաղապատ, և աղամող բազմապատիկ, որպէս օձին շար-ժումն։ Այստեղ կարող էինք աղամող բառն ըստ հին նշանակութեան դնել «ծուռու մուռ», ռայց յն. բնագիրն ունի «խատուտիկ, գոյնըզ-գոյն», և ըստ այսմ Նչ. եզեկ. մեկնում է «բազմագունի, աղամող՝ ըստ Ակիւղասայ». Հին բռ. մեկնում է «գելաթիւր կամ անդարձ» (ուզում է ասել «շատ ոլորուն»)։ ՀՀԲ, որից և ՓԲ. մեկնում են աղամողել «մթնել, սևանալ». որ յայտնապէս սխալ է։ ՆՀԲ աղամող «խա-տուտիկ», աղամողիլ «այլայլիլ, այլափոխիլ, այլագունիլ, ծածանիլ, խառնակիլ. 2. խոտո-րիլ, մոլորիլ, տատանիլ, ցնդիլ», աղամողումն (լուսոյ) «տատանումն»։

Aεγ-οανδιον λες, νεοελλην. ϰαὶ γαλλιϰον, Pars, էջ 382 ա ռնում են ֆր. guimauve, որ է տուղտ, բայց նրա հոմանիշ լտ. hibiscum բառը Ouicherat, Dict lt.-fr. 47-րդ տպ. էջ 620 մաճին) և հյ. բաղբաք։ Նորայրին պատաս-խանում է Ուղուրիկեան, Մասիս 1880, յունիս 24, որ մերժում է տուղտը և հաստատում va-leriana officinalis. բոյսի անունն էլ (աղբ բառից) աղիքների ճճիները արտաքսելու յատկութիւնից առնուած է համարում։ Եւիս-բու ձևը առաջարկում է կարդալ ել իսրուն, որ է Պլինիոսի, Դիոսկորիդեայ, Գաղիանոսի և Մեսուէի ասարոնր. իրօք էլ այս բոյսը իր բարկ հոտի համար հներից ոմանք նմանեցրել էին valeriana-ին։ Ըստ Բենսէ, Ազգ. հանդ. ե. 19 Բուլանըխում աղբաղբուկը «sisymbrium Sophia» բոյսն է. ըստ Ամատունի, Հայոց բառ ու բան, էջ 19բ Շիրակում և Սիփանում նշանակում է «ցանցառ, բարակ ոստերով, դեղին ծաղկով բարձր խոտ, որից տան աւե են շինում»։
