• «պանդուխտ». մէկ անգամ ունի այս նշանակութեամբ՝ Ճառընտ. «Որպէս ի տաղաւարի եմք ի մարմնի բնակեալք, և ի խիզանի եմք բնակեալ յայս կեանքս»։ Նոյն իմաստով է երևում նաև Սասն. 26 «Յօտա-րըս և յանկայունս, ի խիզանս և յանիրաւս»։ Արևելեան քաղաքավարական ոճով ստացել է յետոյ «կին, աղջիկ» նշանակութիւնը, ինչ-պէս գտնում ենք արդի գաւառականներում և որի աւելի հին գործածութիւնն ունի Դրնղ. էջ 27։
• -Վրաց. ხიზანი խիզանի «թշնամու յար-ձակման կամ հիւանդութեան պատճառով մի տեղից փախչելով մի ուրիշ տեղ ապաստա-նած մարդ», որից էլ ունինք Տփ. խիզան «մէկի մօտ ժամանակաւորապէս բնակւող անձ» (օր. Սա նրա խիզանն է)։ Այս իմաս-տից էլ հեշտութեամբ անցել է «կին, աղ-ջիկ, ընտանիք» իմաստին։-Բայց արդեօք վերի վրաց. բառն էլ փոխառեալ չէ՛ պրս. [arabic word] xizān «վեր կացող (իմա փախչող)» րառից (ներկայ դերբայ՝ [arabic word] xīzidan «վեր կենալ» բայից)։-Աճ.
• ՆՀԲ մեկնում է «անշուք տուն և ըն-տանիք» և համեմատում է պրս. քեա-զանէ «ձմերոց, տուն ձմերան» բառի հետ։ ՋԲ մեկնում է «հիւղ կամ վրան», ԱԲ «խեղճ տնակ, և ընտանիք, տղաք»։ Աճառ. Գւռ. բառ. էջ 468բ քրդ. qlz'an «աղջիկներ» բառից է հանում, որ թրք. [other alphabet] ︎ qəz «աղջիկ» բառի յոգնակին է։ Բայց այս մեկնութիւնը՝ որ տրուած է գւռ. խիզան «կին, երախայ, գերդաս-տան» ռարին, անյարմար է հնագոյն «պանդուխտ» նշանակութեան պատճա-ռով։ Պատահական նմանութիւն ունին թրք. և քրդ. [arabic word] xəzan «աղքատիկ, թշգւառ»։
• ԳՒՌ.-Դվ. Երև. Լ. Ղրբ. Շմ. Ջղ. խիզան, որից էլ խիզանատէր, խիզանամայր, խիզա-նատուն։-Սրանց մէջ խիզան նշանակում է «աղջիկ զաւակ, ընտանիք, գերդաստան». «ընտանիք» իմաստով է և Թովմա Մեծոփե-ցի, էջ 81 «Եւ ամենայն զօրքն և խիզան ան-կան ի ձեռն Չաղաթային» (Ամատ. Հայոց բառ ու բան, էջ 278)։

• Նախ Schroder, Thesaur. 46 գրելով գոզակ՝ կցում է արաբ. ǰavzaq և լտ. qossipium բառերին։ ԳԴ դնում է պրս. ղուզէ։-ՆՀԲ «նոյն ընդ ռմկ. գօզալագ.. թերևս ճարակ խոզաց կամ ընկուզա-ձև»։ Lag. Arm. Stud. § 506 պրս. goza բառի պհլ. ձևից։ ՀԲուս. § 1442 հիմ-նուելով Շրէօդէրի վրայ՝ դնում է առան ձին կոզակ բոյսը՝ որ յայտնապէս սխալ է։ Հիւնք. պրս. քիուզէ «բժոժ»։
