• Նախ ԳԴ համեմատեց պրս. նէվ հո-մանիշի հետ։ Rask, Nonnulla (1832), էջ 25 ֆինն. nuor բառի հետ։ Ինճիճեան, Հնախ. Գ. 18 (1835) պրս. յն. և լտ. ձևերը դնում է հայերէնից։ ՆՀԲ ուղիղ ձևերի հետ դնում է նաև եբր. նաար, յն. ϰαινός, թրք. yeni «նոր»։ Ծանօթ ձևե-րի հետ համեմատում են Windisrh 23 Müller SWAW 38, 589 և 41, 12, Justi, Zendsp. 168, Տէրվ. Նախալ. 91, Երկ-րագունտ 1883, 19 ևն։ Տէրվ. կարծում է թէ մեր բառի ր ձայնը գալիս է միւսների v-ից և այս ձայնափոխութեան համար համեմատում է մեղր-մեղու, բարձր-բարձու ձևերը։ Հիւնք. նոր<լտ. nurus յն. ἐγϰαινίζω բառի նախամասն ἐγ-ից է դնում։ Patrubány ՀԱ 1908, 188 են-թադրում է երկու հյ. ձև՝ նոր և *նոգ, որոնց միացմամբ յառաջացել է նորոգ։
